Since 1963, Arpi’s has provided mechanical, heating and cooling excellence that’s helped to build Calgary’s landscape. The local recognition that Arpi’s has enjoyed is about to spread to a national level, as the company was awarded a place on Deloitte’s 50 Best Managed Companies list – a prestigious national award that marks the excellence of Canadian companies with revenues over $10 million. There are about 20,000 businesses in Canada that fit that description, according to Deloitte—and Arpi’s has distinguished itself as one of the very best.
Arpi’s was selected for many of the same reasons their customers choose them: old-fashioned service values that haven’t changed in 50 years combined with their commitment to progress – a solid foundation that has built their continued success in Calgary.
Deloitte’s award is given to companies that demonstrate a strong sense of strategy, capability, commitment to talent, and a financial performance that attests to the company’s success. Like the other recipients of the award, Arpi’s underwent a rigorous and independent process which involves evaluating management skills and practices.
Peter M. Holowach the director of CIBC Commercial Banking and the application process coach assigned to ARPI’s, says “Arpi’s clearly demonstrates a progressive strategy, strong execution and solid results and their award submission attests to their strengths – as a result, they’ve been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies in their very first attempt in the program.”
Fifty years in service have proven founder Arpi Berdin right on one of his fundamental beliefs: being progressive and innovative, while keeping in mind that simple infrastructure is often the best way.
“This award is a tremendous source of pride and motivation for our entire team and I appreciate the effort and energy our people make to be recognized as one of the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada,” says Arpi’s Vice President Barry Cousins. “Arpi’s Industries has been active in the mechanical and HVAC industry for 50 years and we have a long standing reputation in Calgary. We have enjoyed solid growth in the last decade largely in part to staying true to the founder’s many fundamental beliefs including incorporating a mixed-farm approach and our commitment to innovation. This is one thing that hasn’t changed over the years and a reason for our success in being a recipient of this award,” continues Cousins.
Arpi’s Industries is proud to have achieved this milestone award on the company’s 50th year in business. It’s a sign that Arpi’s is doing it right.
“This is a huge honor – We’ve had 50 years of proudly serving Calgarians,” states Julie Berdin, President of Arpi’s Industries Ltd. “Now, the executive team, Arpi’s staff and I are humbled by, and enjoying this achievement and recognition this award brings.”
The announcement was made official to Arpi’s Foremen and Superintendents today during a Surprise Special Breakfast event held at the Glenmore Inn & Convention Centre.
